CRT monitor tests

The following quick tests were designed for CRT monitors only. LCD flat panels use a completely different technology, they have other characteristics and cannot then be tested in the same way. Click here if you are using a LCD flat panel.

Verify your display adapter is set to 24 or 32-bit color mode. These are the only modes giving enough levels to be precise. Let your monitor warm-up for at least 15 minutes before going on with the test.

Don't worry! If your monitor fails one of the tests, that does not mean there is something wrong with the hardware. Though in some cases it may be, it is generally just a matter of properly setting your monitor. This is where ColorWizzard starts helping!
